Just to make sure
your file is set up correctly and it is ready to print, check
the following settings:
File resolution. For printing the right resolution (DPI
or PPI) must be at least 300 DPI. If we use 72 DPI which is for
web images, the printing is going to look distorted.
If you have a 72 DPI image, you cannot scale it to 300 DPI. It
is going to look blurry too.
Color Mode. The right color mode requested for
printing is CMYK. RGB
color mode is good for web. Converting an image from RGB
to CMYK may cause different coloring, and not the one you want.
Bleeds. Bleeds are required in all artwork. Add a quarter
inch (0.125") to each side to allow for cutting. For example,
for a 3.5”x2” business card with full bleed, the image size
should be submitted at 3.75”x2.25”.
0.125" (1/8”) on each edge of the card will be trimmed off
during the cutting process. This will leave you a 3.5”x2”
standard business card.
Your content (text) should be 0.125" (1/8”) inside the cut box
on each side. This will guarantee your text to not be cut off.
